Kia ora friends and supporters

Happy New Year… we’re now up-to-the-wire with the Levin Landfill closure campaign and would really appreciate your support.

As you probably know the Council has already voted 7/4 for Option 1 (closure this year) as its preferred option. Its independent advisors, Morrison Solutions and the Levin Landfill Project Management Group comprising representatives from the community and council officers agree.

We need this to be a permanent formal decision then - we’ll be ‘over the moon’ and hope you will be too!

If you haven’t done so already, can you please
Sign our petition: https://community.greenpeace.org.nz/petitions/time-to-close-the-toxic-levin-landfill-now and help close the leaching Levin Landfill at Hōkio Beach this year (2022).

We recommend a vote for Option 1 - the only good decision for the health of the environment, the community and citizens of the future.

Be quick - submissions close at 5pm tomorrow (January 31.)

Tell Council what you think by using the on-line submission form in the document or, write to them at:

Horowhenua District Council, 126 Oxford Street, Levin, or send it to Bath Street, Levin; 92 Main Street, Foxton or the Shannon Library, Plimmer Terrace, Shannon. Ask your neighbours, family & friends to make a submission and sign the petition.

Thank you so much for your on-going support - every tick for Option 1 is a tick for the future of the next generation.
